J. v. Vondel
1668, March 3
Honorable Sir,
Some art enthusiasts from the goldsmith guild asked me to write something in memory of Paulus van Viane, whose equal the world has never seen and perhaps never will. They have made several copies to distribute and thought it wise to send some to The Hague for the art lovers there. Since you and your son are counted among them, we took the liberty of sending you some copies to distribute to those knowledgeable in the art of engraving.
Please accept this in good faith, and I remain, honorable sir,
Your humble servant, Amsterdam, 1668 J. v. Vondel. March 3. [Address:] To the honorable sir Constantyn Huygens, lord of Zuilichem, etc. in The Hague. with a package. the bearer 14 stuivers. fourteen stuivers.
